Ball Family Farms, a social equity operator, cultivates hand-crafted flowers. Chris Ball, a former professional athlete and legacy operator, founded Ball Family Farms. He uses proprietary, in-house genes as well as sustainable cultivation systems and living soil. Ball Family Farms encourages positive company culture, a passion for great cannabis products, and equal pay. Some of the most popular strains include Dragonfly Jones, Nino brown, and Daniel Larusso.
“Ball Family Farms operates by our motto, ‘cultivating the culture from the ground up,’ in each new venture we undertake,”Chris Ball, founder and CEO of Ball Family Farms, said: “Our partnership with HERBL is no exception. Between their widespread reach in California and commitment to cannabis culture in our state, HERBL is the perfect partner as our growing brand looks to the future.”
40 Tons was founded in 2003 by Loriel Alegrete (Anthony Alegrete), and Corvain Cooper. Cooper and Anthony were first exposed to the effects of cannabis prohibition when they were held on cannabis charges. Loriel and Anthony became active advocates for Cooper’s release. Cooper was serving a life sentence for nonviolent cannabis distribution. Cooper was granted rare clemency in the year 2021. 40 Tons was founded with the goal of providing high-quality cannabis experiences. They also wanted to increase the representation in cannabis of BIPOC communities and advocate for people who are currently in prison. The brand integrated advocacy into its business model by investing the profits from every purchase in social equity efforts. The 40 Tons product line, which includes full-size 1g prerolls and 1/8th flowers packs in a variety strains, will be made available throughout California starting May 30.
“With the support of HERBL, 40 Tons will be able to impact significantly more lives,”Loriel Alegrete, CEO & co-founder of 40 Tons Brand, said. “Sharing our brand and story with new audiences not only introduces consumers to our quality products but also enables our team to fund even more restorative justice initiatives. HERBL’s hands-on approach and organic relationship with our team place 40 Tons in a prime position to succeed.”
40 Tons was able to launch near Cannabis Freedom Day and give visibility to it. Cannabis Freedom Day, an industry holiday, raises awareness of the economic, social and racial injustices faced by BIPOC communities due to cannabis prohibition. The 40 Tons team has been driving visibility for this day via their social platforms.
“HERBL is committed to partnering with the best-of-the-best in cannabis and is honored to welcome Ball Family Farms and 40 Tons into our top-tier distribution portfolio,”Mike Beaudry, CEO and founder of HERBL. “Both brands are dedicated to fostering positive social impact in cannabis, whether that be through diversity in the workplace or providing resources to support restorative justice.
