Verifying your social media accounts is a good idea for many reasons. The blue check confirms that your account is real and official. It is a sign that you are trustworthy, important, and worth paying attention. Verified accounts are always ranked higher in the same search queries. Your comments and posts will be displayed above the non-verified accounts. This allows you to reach a wider audience, and increases your engagement. Anyone who wants to grow their business or brand will be eager to get the blue badge. Verification can be difficult. Only 3% of respondents were able to verify their identity. Instagram accounts account for 3.2%Accounts with over 1,000 followers are subject to verification. Additionally, accounts with more than one million followers are eligible for verification. Accounts with less than five thousand followers are not eligible. Only 0.87%They are verified.

Myths about social-media verification
How can you get verified? There are many myths around social media verification. Some believe that to get the blue badge you must be famous or have millions of followers. None of this is true. Although social media verification was once only available to celebrities and famous people, it is now open for all individuals, brands, and businesses. You are welcome to apply, even if your business is a coach, or other professional.
There are no minimum requirements for followers. Although it is easier to get blue-checked if your followers number in the millions, you don’t have to have more than a few thousand. Explained notability criteria
When you submit your account to verification, an online Google search will be conducted to determine your identity. “notability.”For example, Instagram is to be considered “notable,”You should be well-known and highly searched for. Many articles online also mention this aspect of media coverage. “explain” the notability criteria — but very little clarification is given for what this really entails.
To increase your chances of passing the notability criteria, your brand, business, or company should be featured in the media.
Only news outlets: The media outlet should only be considered news. There are many online publications that are large, but not all are considered news outlets. Some blogs won’t be eligible for this criteria. Check to see if the article is actually appearing under Google’s News Tab. This is where the key is to have many articles about your business appearing under Google’s News tab.
No paid or sponsored content. Your articles can’t be sponsored or placed in paid media. You will notice that not all articles are labeled. “sponsored,” “paid content”Similar. Some companies believe they are capable of doing a “PR burst”You can issue a press release through a press newswire, and it will be published on hundreds of websites. These types of articles are, unfortunately, essentially ineffective. These articles are considered sponsored content and are therefore not eligible to meet the notability requirement.
Recency of news should be sufficient recent news articles regarding you or your brand. It will be very difficult to convince a social media platform that your name has been prominently featured in the news. Notable brands and people are frequently mentioned, almost as often as earthquakes.
Full features: The articles should be full-length stories exclusively written about you or your business — for example, interviews or in-depth stories about your business or products. Brand mentions (i.e. stories in which your brand is only mentioned as an example or reference) are not allowed.
Adequate articles: A minimum of ten articles per month about your brand or company online is a good goal. If you can get more, that’s great! However, a little more than one Google search result will suffice.
This means that unless you have been regularly featured in the news, it will be difficult to obtain the blue badge. You might consider investing in PR or hiring a publicist.
