Shota Nakajima Starts a Smash Burger Pop-Up in Capitol Hill

Celebrity chef Shota Nakajima will be serving up his version of a smashing burger starting today Redhook BrewlabIn Capitol Hill, just next to Taku’s fried-chicken restaurant, Taku. You will receive updates and information on the former Top Chef contestant’s Instagram.

Nakajima’s smash burger include two two-ounce smashed patties with Tillamook cheddar and charred miso aioli and pickles, onions optional. He also serves a veggie smash hamburger with tofu ranch, and slaw. Sides include tater-tots and a Napa cabbage with miso dressing.

Seattle is getting an all-you can eat ice-cream festival

Seattle Center will host an all-you can eat ice cream festival featuring more than 75 flavors on August 27th and 28th. Tickets for the Scooped Ice Cream Festival online are $25 the festival’s website. Ice cream will come from approximately ten ice-cream brands. There will also be music and entertainment by Seattle performers such as Marshall Law Band, Supreme La Rock, Queen Irene, and Queen Irene.

Macrina Bakery opens a sixth North Seattle location

Seattle bakery Macrina BakeryIn the spring of 2023, Macrina will open a sixth location directly across from Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. Macrina’s other locations are in Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Belltown and Sodo, and Kent.
