NFL Staff Notes: Texans, Ravens, Falcons, Panthers

The Texans hired D.J. Debick This weekend, away from the PatriotsAccording to Aaron Wilson, Pro Football Network, it is. Debick served in New England as a Midwest area scout, but, in Houston, he’ll have a bit more responsibility in the role of assistant director of pro scouting.

Debick will likely be the replacement for the former co-assistant to director of player personnel Matt BazirganHe was a senior personnel executive who left earlier this month to join Bills.

Here are some other moves by staff from the NFL, starting with a promotion in Charm City.

  • The Ravens announced recently Promotion of David BlackburnAccording to Wilson, Blackburn joined Ravens in 2007 to be an area scout. He was promoted to national Scout in 2020. Blackburn’s most recent promotion places him in the position of director of college scouting, a huge move from where he started 15 years ago with Baltimore.
  • ESPN’s Seth Walder reports that John TaorminaIs The Falcons are gone!. Taormina began his career in Atlanta in 2015 as a Football Analyst. He has worked his way up to his current position of Director of Football Data & Analytics. Taormina served in this position for 11 month before he resigned earlier this week.
  • Joseph Person of The Athletic reports that the Panthers made a surprising staff move this week. moving former-communications assistant Jordan Trgovac into a role in the team’s scouting department. Her role will be to assist in college and professional scouting. Jordan is the daughter former Panthers defensive Coordinator. Mike TrgovacHe has been a senior defensive assistant for the Raiders for three years.
