Medical care from the safety and privacy of home

Lee Health is committed in improving access to healthcare for patients, their families, residents of our community, and visitors. We have opened new offices, introduced new services, and launched Lee Telehealth. This allowed our patients to access on-demand care from their home via their smartphone, tablet, or computer. Lee Health partnered up with DispatchHealth to provide in-home medical care.

This service is ideal to treat conditions you might not normally seek treatment for at an urgent care center. A medical technician and/or a nurse practitioner are part of the care team that visits your home. A 24/7 emergency medicine physician is available to consult with the care staff.

The service is meant to be convenient – it is, and it is easy to use. When you request an appointment – which can be done without a referral by visiting www.DispatchHealth.com, you will explain your symptoms, provide some details about your illness or injury and note the name of your primary care provider. The DispatchHealth onboarding team will confirm it is not an emergency and that it’s safe to treat your medical condition at home. Within a few hours, the medical team will arrive at your home, ready to treat you in privacy and comfort.

In addition to treating your injury or illness the care team will also call your doctor to update your doctor, fill any prescriptions and bill your insurance company. DispatchHealth is compatible with most insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage and Medicare. This means that you will often pay the same out-of pocket cost as an urgent care center in-network. Prices will vary depending on the level of care received and the insurance coverage, but it is certainly more cost-effective than a trip directly to the emergency room.

We recognize that our patients and neighbors throughout our community may want an in-person experience with a health care provider – versus the virtual option of telehealth – but may still feel nervous or anxious about the spread of COVID-19 or the flu. Our partnership with DispatchHealth helps us deliver the right care in the safety and privacy of the patients’ homes.
