Matteo’s, West Texas Chophouse ‘Coming Soon’ to Far West El Paso

The Far East side isn’t the only part of town booming. Northwest El Paso is also experiencing rapid growth.

The corridor that runs from Artcraft/Paseo Del Norte through to the Outlet Shoppes El Paso at El Paso, Canutillo is a busy corridor. National, regional, and local businesses have noticed.

More restaurants and shopping establishments are opening or planning to open in the area. The most popular spots are West Town Marketplace and The Canyons at Cimarron.

West Town Marketplace recently welcomed the national burger chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, and will soon be the home of Las Cruces move-in Matteo’s Authentic Mexican Food, currently under construction.

The restaurant was started by two brothers, both from Juarez, and their twin sisters from Las Cruces. They quickly became a LC favorite for their made-from-scratch dishes and aguas frescas.

Next door at The Four Corners at Cimarron the upscale local steakhouse West Texas Chophouse, which recently opened a second location in the Las Palmas Marketplace on George Dieter by N. Zaragoza, just put up a “coming soon” sign in the empty lot next to the nearly complete and almost ready to open Dutch Bros. Coffee.

Just down the road at The Canyons at Cimarron, Los Aguachiles will be opening the doors to its third El Paso location. The Mexican seafood restaurant is next to a locally owned Chick’n Cone franchise that began serving up chicken in a waffle this past June.

And it’s not just restaurants.

According to El Paso Inc, Amazon plans to build a shipping/receiving facility at 7850 Paseo Del Norte. Costco may also be looking at the area to open a second El Paso location.
