Letter to Yankees revealed, cites use of ‘illicit technology’

The New York Yankees were sent a letter by Major League Baseball describing the investigation into sign-stealing. SNY this weekAlthough the letter has not yet been sealed, it is hereby acknowledged.

New York has fought to keep the 2017 Letter, which details the results from an investigation into mutual sign-stealing among the Yankees and Boston Red Sox, secret. Fearing that it might damage the team’s image, 

SNY revealed the letter the Yankees used the video replay room in 2015 and 2016 to decode sign sequences and then pass them to a runner on second base to give to the upcoming batter. The letter also stated that the team was fined $100,000 due to improper use of a phone in the dugout. This was not reported by any outlet previously.
