Jamie Skaar’s Alleged Tweets About Black Women Resurface

Jamie Skaar, Bachelorette Season 18 star, has allegedly tweeted offensive comments about Black women.

Michelle Young’s season has allowed fans to get to know Jamie Skaar. The BacheloretteHowever, old tweets from his alleged Twitter account have surfaced that include problematic statements he seems to have made about Black women. Jamie was introduced to Bachelor Nation, a 32-year old biotech CEO from Tacoma. After making a great first impression, he made it through the first night. Jamie was invited on episode 2 to Michelle’s first date.

Jamie shared with Michelle, during his one-on-1, that his mother had suffered from mental illness for a long period and died when Jamie was 24 years old. Jamie has attempted to overcome the pain of losing his mom, after having seen her struggle for so many decades. Some tweets from Jamie’s alleged Twitter page have now surfaced. Some of these tweets are from Jamie’s Twitter account, which was likely created after he had lost his mom. However, Jamie’s alleged social media account shares some public posts that are worth looking at because he is trying to find the third Black Bachelorette in history.

Further inspection revealed that this alleged Twitter account contained even more problematic tweets by The Bachelorette star. Jamie’s alleged Twitter handle sent offensive tweets, as you can see in the screenshots. “dark skin girls,”Which is defined (via Urban Dictionary) as a “term used within the black community to describe a person’s skin tone that can range from an almond brown to a deep mahogany color. This symbolizes strong African ancestry.”According to the Merriam-WebsterDictionary: colorism is defined by “prejudice or discrimination especially within a racial or ethnic group favoring people with lighter skin over those with darker skin.”Jamie was probably struggling with his mother’s recent passing when these tweets were allegedly written. This context should be considered. Jamie is, on the other hand a standout cast member of a season that featured a Black woman as The Bachelorette’s host. Reality TV fans should examine his views on women, and Black women, from seven to eight decades ago as he continues to work on the show.

Finally, @JamieEvans24 also shared occasional tweets that were specifically about gay men. Screenshots below show that the tweets showed someone who doesn’t like gay men and seeing situations that might be related to them. One tweet read, “Just [seen] 2 guys dancing together like gay pride. This p*rno might turn into a reality. [hashtag scary thoughts].”Another tweet said, “New rule: don’t wear tank tops if you’re a bartender. The gays will come [annoyed face with sweat emoji].”
