Injury Report: Eagles could be without Darius Slay on Sunday

The Philadelphia Eagles have released the first injury report for the week. There are a few players you should keep an eye on over the next few days.

The first thing to notice is Darius Slay. Jonathan Gannon is having a remarkable season with the three-time Pro Bowler. He has already scored three defensive touchdowns. He’s been absolutely stellar from the first time he stepped onto the field this year but he suffered a hit against the Saints that has left him in concussion protocol.

Like Dallas Goedert last week, he’ll likely be limited for the remainder of the week and will have to be officially cleared if he is to play against the Giants. It’s not like New York have the most potent passing offense in the world, but if there is ever a corner to capitalize on errant Daniel Jones passes, he’s the one.

Elsewhere, After injuring his knee, Jordan Howard was unable for practice. This is likely a pleasant surprise, considering Howard’s ill-treatment of his neck in the New Orleans victory. His neck and back seem to be in good shape. Sirianni told reporters on Monday that it was a sprain and he’s probably going to miss the upcoming game and potentially next week’s as well.

Miles Sanders could face a larger workload, having displayed high highs as well as low lows during his 94-yard run. After returning from injury last week, he could be back to bell-cow responsibilities against the Giants…although we do know there’s only one running back to play in this scenario, and that’s Giants team owner Boston Scott.

There’s nothing juicy on the rest of the report, but it’s worth keeping an eye on over the coming days.
