Google announces Pixel 6 phone with new chip, subscription service

Oct 19, (Reuters) – Alphabet Inc.’s (GOOGL.O), Google announced Tuesday that the latest iteration of its smartphone, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, will be powered with the company’s first chip, Tensor.

The tech giant also introduced Pixel Pass, a subscription that costs $45 per month and includes the Pixel 6 as well as access to premium YouTube and YouTube Music.

Pricing for the Pixel 6 starts at $599, while pricing for the Pixel 6 Pro starts at $899.

The phones will be available at U.S. wireless providers starting Oct. 28.
