ESPN projects ASU OL Kellen Diesch, Dohnovan West future NFL starters

ESPN analysts Todd McShay & Steve Muench published a list of NFL Draft prospect levels last week. Two Arizona State Sun Devils made Tier 6, which included players from 67-106.

Kellen Diesch, offensive tackle and center DohnovanWest landed in spots No. No. 102Check out the complete list.

Diesch is among the 11 offensive tackles and West is among the four centers of the 106 ESPN players.

Tier 6 is comprised of potential starters McShay and Muench see as having third-round value. These prospects are considered to be in need of time, have limited upside and red flags.

Diesch, a 6-foot-7, 300-pound tackle, played two seasons for ASU following his transfer from Texas A&M. At the NFL Scouting Combine in March, he ran a 4.89 second 40-yard dash time and a 4.43 second 20-yard shuttle time.

“Diesch is another player to keep an eye on,” Muench wrote. “Offensive linemen feel the same way about arm length as quarterbacks feel about hand spans: If they don’t check that box, they don’t want to hear about it. Diesch has short arms, and defenders are able to get into his frame on tape, but he is fundamentally sound and plays with balance. He has a chance to overcome that lack of length.”

After committing in 2018, West played three seasons for ASU. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and 296 pounds. He also ran a 5.23 40-yard sprint at the combine.

Both linemen made it to the All-Pac-12 Second Team 2021.
