Eagles fan explains her viral NSFW moment during Saints game

A new Philly legend was born during the fourth quarter of the Eagles’ Week 11 win over Saints.

Mary Kate of Havertown. Or, Mare of Havertown. Or, the First Lady of Eagles Fanatics.

We can all agree that no matter where we land, it doesn’t matter what we land on. Mary Kate MinkBirds fans worldwide will love this image.

Twitterverse caught Mink’s attention when FOX cameras panted to her after a terrible roughing the passer call on JavonHargrave. This gave the Saints extra help as they tried to trim the Eagles lead. New Orleans was gaining momentum, but things looked less promising than they did in halftime.

Mink made it known to the refs and it became viral.

It’s not possible to hear the audio, but a professional lip reader can figure out what Mink was trying to tell the officiating crew. It was as if every Eagles fan at the Linc had tapped into an even larger consciousness and channeled it to Mink. The clip is perfect from her incredulousness and fury to the moment she fixes her beanie.

It’s Oscar-worthy.

Mink was on 94WIP for a chat about the hilarious clip, and how her life was briefly turned upside-down after it went viral.

“Well, my mom is mad at me. She asked me, ‘Well, why did you have to curse?’ I said, ‘Mom, I didn’t know I was going to be on T.V.””

Mink’s mom is clearly angry at Mink. But, something tells me that this isn’t the first time Mink has used that exact string. It’s amazing how effortless the tape was.

“I was with my two sons and my husband, and my son taps me and says, ‘Mom, you’re going viral on Barstool Sports Philly.’ I was like, ‘Why?’ People around our section, I guess their phones are blowing up. Then I – I turn my phone off during the game, but I turned my phone on and I had 86 text messages. [laughs]”

There’s so much to love in this video. Mink was probably surprised to hear that she was going viral. But, the best thing about Mink’s game is the fact that she turns off her phone. It’s amazing! This is a true Birds fan. Modern football fans are texting friends, sharing stories on the IG, checking fantasy team rosters, and placing bets – Sundays are a madhouse full of entertainment. Mink. She’s committed to the Eagles. Fantastic.

“Philly gets a bad rap, and that’s horrible because we’re just passionate. I was just having fun with my kids at the game, and my husband, and we’re passionate. That’s how we are.”

[…]

“I’m so passionate about Delco. My parents live in Havertown, I have so many memories of Delaware County, I met my husband in Delaware County, I just – we’re passionate Eagles fans. “Silver Linings Playbook”, that’s like our family. We just love the Eagles. We love the Birds.”

Although the quotes were different, they all share the same idea: Mink loves the Delaware Valley. She loves Philly and Delco and the Eagles. She also loves her family. It was a funny moment in sports, but it was very sweet to hear her talk about the things that she loved and defend them.

Mink sneaking in the fact the Birds are hunting was a highlight. Mary Kate, you got it right. It’s time for playoff push.
