Cornerback Jeff Okudah spent the first real NFL offseason last season after his rookie season recovering from core muscle surgery. He also attempted to take the next step in developing his skills after a challenging rookie campaign.
Okudah was finally healthy. He had a strong preseason and training camp. 2021 looked bright for him.
It was difficult to watch Okudah grab at his left foot on Ford Field turf, just 48 seconds into his second season. Okudah was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon and his season was over prematurely for the second year.
A player who sustains a serious injury like Okudah’s will often have to overcome a mental obstacle. Okudah tried his best to be as close to Allen Park and his teammates as possible.
